For all you Western History loving, Scenic Vista viewing, Nature Observing crazy Lone Star Riders, here’s a fun little trip up to Medicine Park, Oklahoma.

For this ride we are going to do a 3 Day/2 Night journey from Friday, Sept. 5th through Sunday Sept. 7th. We will stay in Medicine Park at the Plantation Inn both Friday and Saturday nights. Room rates are $115 per night for a Single King and $125 a night for a Double Queen. Plantation Inn Website

While we are in the area we will take in the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge which is known for its American Bison (Buffalo) herd, Texas Longhorns, Prairie Dog Town, and the occasional Rocky Mountain Elk. These critters range throughout 60,000 acres of native prairie grasses and some of the oldest (not tallest) Granite Mountains in the US. We have a day ride planned over to Quartz Mountain State Park Lodge where we will have lunch, on Saturday. There are some other short ride options to the Ft. Sill Visitor Center, Ft. Sill Artillery Museum or to visit Geronimo’s resting place.

FRIDAY SEPT.5 - TOTAL DISTANCE - 236 Miles

Buc-ee’s- 1550 US-75, Melissa TX-KSU at 8:30am. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to KSU so we can all gather to identify Groups and go over the Route to Medicine Park (appx 236 miles).

We will be back in Medicine Park in time to possibly do the short ride to Ft Sill or for just kicking back with a cold one at one of the bars in town. No plans for a group meal as there are several restaurants worth trying out in Medicine Park.
