Ruidoso, NM Aspencash Rally Ride - May 14 - 20, 2012

Ok Folks,
We are going back to Ruidoso this Spring for the Aspencash Rally, where the last time the group was there was in Sept of 2008 for the beginning of the Golden Aspen Rally. And we are also going back and ride highway 191 (aka Route 666, the Devil’s Highway). So here is the basic itinerary:
Mon – May 14th – Ride to Roswell, NM
Tue - May 15th – Ride through Ruidoso to spend the night in Silver City, NM
Wed - May 16th This day we are going to ride 120 miles of US 191 (fna US 666, the Devils Highway) which supposedly has 1100 curves in a 95 mile stretch. The elevation also changes from 3,464 to 9.092 ft from Clifton to Alpine so we will be riding up hill. And even before getting to Three Way and turning north on 191, there is a stretch of SR-78 at the Arizona border that is another great stretch of curves going down into a valley. We will spend the night in Eager, AZ. We rode this route back in 2008 and it was “Just Grand”. Here is a link describing this route: http://www.azride.com/route666run.html
Thu – May 17th Ride from Eagar across the north end of the White Sands Missile Range back into Ruidosa
Fri – May 18th This day will be spent attending the Aspencash Motorcycle Rally and Trade Show. http://motorcyclerally.com/page5.htm
Sat – May 19th head out around mid day and ride to Brownfield, TX to spend the night. We did this to break up the almost 600 mi ride home.
Sun – May 20th Head out for the last 370 miles to home.
