Painted Churches Tour

Over the last few meeting the Ladies have been asking for a couples ride. After a strong threat of bodily harm from the ladies at last Saturdays Monthly Meeting David was kind enough to step up and volunteered to lay this ride out on short notice. David led a Painted Churches Tour for our group I think in 2002 and we had a GREAT time so it only made sense for him to do it again. I think it has become one of his many Legacy's!!

It's just not for couples all are welcome!!!

Friday April the 7th thru Sunday 9th:

Friday Morning: We will meet at the Quick Trip on the northwest corner of I-45 & Wintergreen Rd. Kick stands up at9am and take a smell the roses type (slower pace) ride to Brenham. We will be staying at the Best Western in Brenham on 290 Friday and Saturday night. Even though David has not finished laying out the back roads route it's about a 250-275 mile ride to the Best Western. With gas stops and comfort breaks it should take about 6-7 hours to arrive in Brenham. A location will be decided upon for dinner.

Saturday Morning: After breakfast we will head out and ride some Bluebonnets Roads on our way to Lockhart Tx and check out one of the famous Bar-BQ establishments and see if it's all of what they say it is. After lunch we will head out for our tour of the beautiful Painted Churches and more site seeing.

Sunday Morning: After breakfast we will head home and have lunch somewhere on the way.

David originally wanted to leave Friday March the 31st but all the hotels are booked because of an Antique Show that weekend so we decided on the following weekend. That weekend will interfere with our Monthly Meeting on the 8th so most likely depending on how many of us attend the Painted Church Tour I will decide to move our Monthly Meeting to the April 1st. We also have the Big Bend Ride starting April 27th. Looks like we are starting to get busy for a Great Year Of Riding!!

If you plan on attending you need to make your reservations ASAP. Brenham is a tourism favorite and the rooms go fast. Even though the host hotel will be the Best Western there are a lots of others hotels in the area.

Best Western

1503 Highway 290 E.

Brenham, Texas 77833

There will be more ride information and routes later!!

If you plan on attending please let me know that you'll be joining us and what hotel you will be staying in.

Thanks Again David for setting this ride up!!!

Have a great day everyone,

Rex
