Big Bend Ride - March 14-18, 2012

Day 1 - Wed Mar 14^th - 246 mi. Many of us plan on departing sometime around noon (or when you can get away) and meet up in Brady south of Brownwood on US 377. We will be staying at the Best Western and most likely have dinner at the Hard 8 BBQ where we eaten at many times.

Day 2 - Thu Mar 15^th - 330 mi This is our first full day where we will head for Alpine where there is there is a Best Western, Ramada and a Hampton Inn in so we have more than one choice. Most are staying at the Best Western. That evening, we will eat at the famous Reata Restaurant.

Day 3 - Fri Mar 16^th - 242 mi This day, we will ride to Ft Davis to take in the McDonald Observatory, the Davis Mt Loop, Marfa, Presidio, the River Road to Study Butte. Mark has an interesting place for lunch in Marfa (Food Shark) and we will stay at Study Butte at the Big Bend Motor Lodge. We will probably dine at the Starlight Theatre in Terlingua Saturday night.

Day 4 – Sat Mar 17^th - 218 mi Most of this day will be spent in the Big Bend National Park (Santa Elena Canyon, Chisos Basin, Rio Grand Village), where we leave out the north gate and spend the night in Ft Stockton. There are several choices for lodging…… Hampton Inn, Sleep Inn, LaQuinta, Comfort Suites.

Day 5 - Sun Mar 18^th - 470 Mi Home
