2014 Black Hills Ride
Post date: May 11, 2014 3:34:24 PM
We have secured lodging during our stay in the Black Hills. The best deal was up in Spearfish and we have reservations at the Best Western Black Hills Lodge. Our reservations are set up for arriving on Mon Sept 1 and departing on Saturday Sept 6th. That gives us 4 full days to see the sights in and around the Black Hills, 3 full days to get there, and 3 full days to get back home.
The Best Western Black Hills Lodge is close to Sturgis and Deadwood and also convenient to all the attractions down south. (Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, Needles Highway).
We have 15 rooms blocked off for us under the Lone Star Riders name. They will hold the rooms until July 16th and then they will be released. The direct phone number of the hotel is 605-642-7795.
They are holding 15 rooms for us with two queens in them each at the rate of: $99.00 per night for Mon- Thurs and $109.80 for Friday night.
They do have some rooms with king beds in them but they couldn't give us a rate for those as they were having problems with the computer system. They said if someone wanted a room with a king bed in it they would take care of us. They said that the hotel caters to Motorcyclists and they were looking forward to our visit.
The itinerary for this ride will be roughly as follows:
Saturday August 30 ; Leave from Cracker Barrel in Denton at 380 and I35. Kickstands up at 7:30 am (this will be a long day so we are leaving slightly earlier than usual)

Tues Sept 2- Friday Sept 5 : we will explore all the sites in the Black Hills area over the course of the time we are there. Will loosely follow the Shamrock Tour that was in the June 2014 issue of Road Runner Magazine if you subscribe to that magazine.

Hotel in Fort Morgan is the Central Motel. Phone number is: 970-867-2401. You can call now and reserve your room. Talk to Betty. Betty is holding the rooms for the next day or so under my name (David Adams) so just tell her that and she should be able to take care of you. Don't wait as there is a big golf tournament in town that weekend and rooms may be hard to get if you wait.
